Nice long episode and I loved the Avengers talk at the end but I do have one well actually and that is that Kevin Finge wanted to kill off Agent Coulson before Joss Whedon got involved.

Because they are all going to be like, “Oh he did it again!” It was stipulated from the beginning, and I completely agree that it was the right thing to do, and so did Clark. Who said in the early days, when I was busy apologizing for it, “In a movie like this, with what’s going on if there isn’t some toll, it’s just irresponsible story telling.”"

Thanks Paul! I hadn’t seen that bit about Coulson being predestined to die. I’m going to say that this is Whedon influencing other writers to kill off beloved characters. Though, I did wonder if Coulson was beloved before he was killed or if he became beloved because he was killed (and I thought Joss had killed him so obviously he must be beloved!)
